Global offshore wind pipeline November 2025

As of the date of publication, the global operational floating offshore wind capacity stands at 277MW with a further 93MW undergoing offshore construction. The total future pipeline of known projects is 221GW.

The report explores floating offshore wind ownership, foundation type, development stage, as well as 2030 and 2032 forecasts of capacity and foundations on a global scale. Some key insights from the report include:

- 86% of operational floating offshore wind capacity in 2030 is expected to be in only China and the UK.

- 199 floating foundations are expected to be in the water by 2030.

- 60% of advanced floating wind projects are expected to use semi-submersible foundations.
