Onshore wind farms reduce CO2 emissions, provide energy security, and contribute to the local and national economy. Onshore wind works well in the UK because of our excellent wind resource, and it has become one of the most cost effective forms of renewable energy. ![]() ![]() Wave and tidal hubThe Government estimates that wave & tidal stream energy combined has the potential to deliver around 20% of the UK’s current electricity needs which equates to an installed capacity of around 30 – 50GW. RenewableUK and our members have worked together to develop the Ocean Energy Race campaign. This seeks to strengthen political support for developing wave and tidal energy in the UK.
