RenewableUK is inviting journalists from around the world to the offshore wind industry’s biggest annual event Global Offshore Wind 2018 on 19th-20th June at Manchester Central.
The UK is the world leader in offshore wind; we are the number one destination for attracting investment in this technology and have installed more capacity than any other country.
Keynote political speakers include the Energy and Clean Growth Minister Claire Perry and the Sector Champion for Offshore Wind, Baroness Brown of Cambridge, who will be addressing the industry from the podium for the first time since her appointment was announced in March. Baroness Brown is championing the industry’s work with Government, to deliver a transformative Sector Deal creating thousands of additional skilled jobs and billions of pounds worth of export opportunities between now and 2030.
The conference includes sessions on the industry’s route to zero subsidy, global research and innovation, floating offshore wind, energy storage, robotics and AI.
More than 2,500 delegates from 50 countries will attend the event, which includes an exhibition in which 150 companies will showcase the latest cutting-edge technology.
Senior industry figures will analyse global markets and highlight upcoming opportunities.
Companies wanting to become part of the multi-billion-dollar global supply chain will be able to meet international buyers, including trade delegations from China, Taiwan and the USA.
Major event partners include innogy, MHI Vestas Offshore Wind, Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult, ScottishPower Renewables, Statoil; and the UK Government’s Department for International Trade (DIT).
