Responding to the announcement by the Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult that it has signed an agreement with China’s Tus-Wind and TusPark Newcastle to work together to advance offshore wind technology co-operation between the two nations,
RenewableUK’s Executive Director Emma Pinchbeck said:
“The ORE Catapult’s landmark agreement with its partners in China is a great example of how the UK is sealing multi-million pound deals around the world in the thriving clean energy sector, capitalising on our expertise and creating new opportunities to export.
“This is part of a great British success story on the international stage, which is being achieved at a time when we’re looking to break into new global markets. Last year UK companies working in the wind, wave and tidal energy sectors signed more than 500 contracts in 43 countries across 6 continents.
“An ambitious Sector Deal for offshore wind could boost our export potential even further – the industry is working closely with Government on this”.
RenewableUK is the trade and professional body for the wind, wave and tidal energy industries. Formed in 1978, and with more than 400 corporate members, RenewableUK is the country’s leading renewable energy trade association.
