RenewableUK welcomes budget for new onshore wind projects to drive investment
9 December 2025 - RenewableUK press release
Commenting on the announcement by the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) of the budget for Allocation Round 7 to support new non-offshore wind technologies, including onshore wind, RenewableUK's Executive Director of Policy and Engagement Ana Musat said:
“The framework the Government has put in place this week will almost certainly ensure that new onshore wind farms are confirmed next year, which is fantastic news for the UK. It’s not only that these farms will provide clean power for billpayers across the country, but they’ll bring new investment to the areas where they’ll be sited through new jobs, contracts for local business and community funding.
"There is a real momentum building around onshore wind in the UK, which will open up opportunities for the Government to be even more ambitious in the years ahead.”
