RenewableUK thanks Giles Dickson for his outstanding leadership as Chief Executive of WindEurope
8 July 2025 - RenewableUK press release
Commenting on today’s announcement by the CEO of WindEurope Giles Dickson that he intends to step down from the role to become a schoolteacher, RenewableUK’s Deputy Chief Executive Jane Cooper said:
"On behalf of RenewableUK, I’d like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Giles Dickson for his outstanding leadership as CEO of WindEurope. Giles has been a tireless champion of the wind industry, and his steady guidance has helped to foster vital collaboration between the UK and the EU on clean energy at a time of immense political and economic challenge.
“Throughout his tenure, Giles remained a trusted and pragmatic voice, ensuring that shared goals on decarbonisation and energy security continued to unite us, even in turbulent times. His legacy is not just one of policy progress, but lasting partnership between Government and industry. We wish him the very best for the future, especially in his new role as a schoolteacher, and welcome him warmly back to the UK. I’m sure he will bring the same level of energy and dedication to the world of education as he has brought to the renewable energy sector”.
