Media invitation to Global Offshore Wind 2021 conference and exhibition

RenewableUK is inviting journalists to the country’s biggest annual international offshore wind event, Global Offshore Wind 2021, which takes place at ExCeL in London and online on Wednesday 29th and Thursday 30th September.
Up to 3,000 delegates are expected to attend the hybrid event in person or online. It includes over 120 exhibitors from more than 40 countries as well as 200 conference speakers. These include COP26 President Alok Sharma MP, Minister for Energy, Clean Growth and Climate Change Anne-Marie Trevelyan MP, Environment Minster Rebecca Pow MP, Parliamentary Undersecretary for Apprenticeships and Skills Gillian Keegan MP and the Chair of the CCC’s Adaptation Committee Julia King, Baroness Brown of Cambridge, who is also the UK’s Low Carbon Business Ambassador.
Industry leaders from the biggest companies in the sector will also be speaking at the conference sessions, including senior figures from the Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult, Ørsted, RWE, Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy, SSE Renewables and Vestas, which are the leading sponsors of the event. Other speakers include representatives from BP, National Grid ESO, the Wildlife Trusts, the RSPB, the National Federation of Fishermen’s Organisations, The Crown Estate, the Royal Air Force, the Offshore Wind Industry Council and the Global Wind Energy Council, as well as leading international banks and law firms.
The conference sessions cover a myriad of topics such as global investment opportunities, maximising job creation including apprenticeships and helping former oil and gas workers to make the transition into renewables, innovative technologies such as floating wind and renewable hydrogen, building future grid infrastructure, sharing the sea with other users and protecting the environment.
