Green Volt

Strategic Event Partner

Green Volt Offshore Windfarm, a joint venture between Flotation Energy and Vårgrønn, is set to become Europe’s first commercial-scale floating windfarm and one of the largest in the world.

With a nominal capacity of up to 560 MW, the project is a catalyst for the floating wind supply chain — and it is unfolding right now in UK waters. Green Volt will unlock £2.5billion of inward investment and 2,800 direct jobs during construction, as the UK looks to seize floating offshore wind as a once-in-a-generation opportunity.

The pioneering project will supply clean electricity to the grid, whilst making the electrification of North Sea oil and gas platforms possible, to significantly reduce their greenhouse gas emissions.
Developed under Crown Estate Scotland’s INTOG (Innovation and Targeted Oil & Gas) Leasing Round, and having secured full onshore and offshore planning consents, Green Volt was awarded a CfD by UK Government in September 2024 — leaving the project poised for a leading role in the global energy transition.
