Executive summary
This report provides a current snapshot of the global offshore wind market tracked in the EnergyPulse online database, covering 1,565 projects across 49 countries from early development through to operation.
In total, 8.8GW of offshore wind capacity was fully commissioned during 2025, bringing total installed capacity to 89.2 GW by the end of the year, with the UK and China representing most of this capacity. By the end of 2030, the report predicts around 236GW to be fully operational. In the year 2025, £39 billion of investment was committed to globally in final investment decisions to the end of 2025.
The report provides a detailed breakdown by country of the global growth in offshore wind, with detailed information on project ownership, supply chain components and installation demand. It also includes an analysis of the UK Contracts for Differences (CfD) rounds, ownership, commissioning timelines, and capacity eligible for future allocation rounds.
