Created to support newcomers on their journey into renewables, our NextGen Network creates meaningful connections, shares real-world insights, and inspires a shared passion for clean energy.
We're launching on 16 June, ahead of our Global Offshore Wind conference on 17 – 18 June in London, with a year-round event programme to:
- Empower your networking – via discounts to selected RenewableUK events
- Facilitate mentorship and collaboration – through regular contact with our Shadow Board and opportunities to learn from experienced leaders in renewable energy
- Champion diversity – by welcoming a broad mix of voices and backgrounds to our industry-leading events

What can I expect?
Being a part of the RenewableUK NextGen Network will give you the opportunity to expand your renewables industry network and attend events tailored to those new to the industry or towards the beginning of their career.
Members of the Network will get access to:
- Discounted tickets for RenewableUK events (limited tickets available and subject to eligibility criteria)
- Policy explainer webinars – spotlights on policy topics without the jargon
- Site visits
- Regional informal networking events
- Virtual events on career development and skills training
- Breakfast briefings and dedicated networking at existing RUK events
- Talks by senior industry figures, industry panels, and Q&A sessions
- A dedicated online forum and discussion board on the RenewableUK website
Is it for me?
The RenewableUK NextGen Network is open to anyone working for a RenewableUK member company, who is within their first 10 years in the renewables sector, and those that may be returning to the industry after a period of absence. It is aimed at those wishing to expand their professional network and knowledge of the industry. We are looking for members who are enthusiastic about all renewable technologies and contributing to our work towards net zero.
In due course, the Network will have a dedicated steering group, and we will be looking for volunteers to help set up an exciting programme of events from 2026.
Why are we doing this?
The industry is expected to need more than 70,000 additional workers by 2030. As part of our mission to lead the renewables sector in building a diverse and resilient workforce to deliver clean power by 2030 and net zero by 2050, the RenewableUK Shadow Board champions initiatives aimed at enhancing our offering for newcomers and developing leaders.
How do I join?
Register your interest below and we will contact you about the next steps. Our NextGen Network is open to everyone within RenewableUK membership and less than 10 years experience in the industry. Events will be both in-person and virtual, and eligibility for discounted events tickets will be confirmed in due course.
