Flexible, however regular attendance to the RenewableUK London office is required. Travel will be required for events or meetings outside of London

Role overview
The purpose of this role is to support delivery of the Offshore Wind Industry Council (OWIC) and renewables work programme, working with the Programme Manager and wider team. The work programme has been produced in line with government’s Clean Power 2030 action plan and the role will consist of working with the team on reports and projects to communicate our work to a wide range of stakeholders.
The selected candidate will learn about opportunities for the UK sector regionally and in the supply chain, promoting greater diversity and increase apprenticeships skills, growing the workforce to meet the industry’s requirements.
This is an interim role reporting to the Offshore Wind Delivery Programme Manager.
Key responsibilities:
The role involves but is not limited to the following:
- Setting up and tracking projects and actions.
- Provide assistance to the Programme Manager and wider team with reports and projects in relation to the work programme.
- Lead on preparation and delivery ahead of external meetings and events and support with stakeholder mapping, engagement and communications.
- Preparing external materials including communication updates and presentation slides.
Support the working groups, and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders, including members, government, regional representatives and local partners including cross-sector.
Skills and experience
Essential
- An appropriate degree or equivalent, or demonstrable capability at this level.
- A background in, or significant renewables knowledge from a national, regional or industry perspective.
- Experience providing secretariat for senior working or delivery groups.
- Ability to develop effective relationships and build credibility with stakeholders at all levels, both internally and externally.
- Good written and oral briefing skills, showing an ability to tailor a subject matters to the audience.
- Proven record of using initiative and making sound judgements.
Ability to manage and prioritise workload to meet deadlines and targets.
Desirable
- Good overview of renewable energy with particular focus on wind energy and wind farm developers or suppliers.
- Experience commissioning and managing reports from consultants.
- Experience of working with and developing complex policy.
- Experience representing an organisation and policy position at working to senior level meetings.
- Understanding of the offshore wind landscape and how to deliver in a complex world.
