How we work
Share |

We act as a central point of information and a united representative voice for our members, promoting the benefits of wind and marine renewables to Britain & Northern Ireland by conducting research and engaging with politicians and the media.

Our work is led by a Senior Management Team and supported by a Board of senior industry figures and based around a clear aim – a thriving renewable sector.

Collectively our members employ over 250,000 people - from large international energy companies to small companies keen to build new markets and ready to disrupt our energy market with new products and services.

The UK has some of the best natural resources in the world for these technologies. Renewables have proven their ability to deliver, and alongside gas and nuclear will be central to keeping the lights on and powering our economy. Our role is to maximise this opportunity and create the conditions that will see the renewable sector continue to thrive here. To help us achieve this goal, we are focusing on;

  • Onshore wind - our low cost route to energy security
  • Offshore wind - the UK opportunity
  • Wave & tidal - Britain’s place in the ocean energy race
  • Our future energy system - how red tape is hurting consumers and stifling innovation
  • Energy storage – the here and now of building a smart resilient network

RenewableUK staff work closely with members through closed Working Groups to deliver this work.

Members who have been appointed to these groups can access content and take part by following the links below:

Policy forums help form our policy position and industry strategy and are made up of representatives from our membership who are experts in their own field. These groups meet to discuss policy and technical issues.
