|How we work|
We act as a central point of information and a united representative voice for our members, promoting the benefits of wind and marine renewables to Britain & Northern Ireland by conducting research and engaging with politicians and the media. We bring our members together to solve common industry problems and help our members be successful businesses by supporting business to business activities and networking.
Our work is led by a Senior Management Team and supported by a Board of senior industry figures and based around a clear aim – a thriving renewable sector. Our objectives & priorities guide the work of our organisation and focus our effort on delivery of a set of defined projects.
Collectively our members employ over 250,000 people - from large international energy companies who see Britain as the cornerstone of their renewable work, to small companies keen to build new markets and ready to disrupt our energy market with new products and services. Our members are the companies who build and run our wind turbines and the expert consultancies and suppliers our industry relies upon.
Across our land and around our coastline we have some of the best natural resources in the world for these technologies. Renewables have proven their ability to deliver, and alongside gas and nuclear will be central to keeping the lights on and powering our economy. Our role is to maximise this opportunity and create the conditions that will see the renewable sector continue to thrive here.
To help us achieve this goal, we are focusing on;
RenewableUK staff work closely with members through working groups and forums to deliver this work;
Policy forums help form our policy position and industry strategy through a set of working groups made up of representatives from our membership who are experts in their own field. These groups meet to discuss policy and technical issues - guiding many of RenewableUK’s activities and our response to industry developments.
