Marine Cables Seminar

7th October 2010 - Hotel Russell, Russell Square, London

There is an increasing use of the United Kingdom Continental Shelf to transmit either electricity or data through seabed marine cables. With the considerable growth of both sectors over the next 20-30 years, it is important that they learn from each other and co-operate as fully as possible.

To this end, RenewableUK and the UKCPC (United Kingdom Cable Protection Committee, which represents both power and telecoms) decided to hold a seminar on Marine Cables in London on Thursday 7th October at the Hotel Russell in Russell Square, London.

The objective of the event was to raise awareness of the areas of mutual interest and practice facing the various sectors on the UKCS, share their experiences and identify how UK seabed cables can be managed effectively and harmoniously going forward.
