RenewableUK One-Day Seminar:

A single vision for the UK’s energy system?

Across Government, this year’s policies will establish the UK’s vision for its future energy system.

BEIS and Ofgem will set out their vision for a smart, flexible energy system in a series of key policy statements.

These will include the Industrial Strategy White Paper - the vision for how this energy system can continue to support business and a re-balanced economy; the Clean Growth Plan - the vision for meeting our decarbonisation targets; and the Treasury’s new cost control mechanisms to manage their cost.

The ambition that the Government shows will be judged against the exceptional ambition of the renewable energy sector – from likely record low prices expected in the upcoming offshore wind auctions to further developments in renewable energy’s ability to support the electricity grid’s resilience.

How do we and Government draw these political, regulatory and market strands together into a single clear vision for the future energy system?

This one-day seminar will examine and tie together the evolving political, regulatory and market framework for our energy system to understand where we are heading and what is needed for the UK’s critical industries.

Participants will be able to -

Understand and discuss the prospects for key elements of energy policy this year.
Understand key industries’ vision for the future energy system.
