About RenewableUKRenewableUK is the trade and professional body for the UK wind and marine renewables industries. Formed in 1978, and with 662 corporate members, RenewableUK is the leading renewable energy trade association in the UK. In 2004, RenewableUK expanded its mission to champion wave and tidal energy and use the Association's experience to guide these technologies along the same path to commercialisation. Our primary purpose is to promote the use of wind, wave and tidal power in and around the UK. We act as a central point for information for our membership and as a lobbying group to promote wind energy and marine renewables to government, industry, the media and the public. We research and find solutions to current issues and generally act as the forum for the UK wind, wave and tidal industry, and have an annual turnover in excess of four million pounds. RenewableUK Mission and Values StatementVision Our vision is of renewable energy playing a leading role in powering the UK's homes and businesses. We aim to be the voice of authority for the renewable power sector, trusted by all those we interact with, providing a credible source of information and knowledge for our members, the industry, the Government, the public and the media. Mission We exist to champion the generation, deployment and use of renewable power. Role Our role is to act as a catalyst for policy change to support the maximum deployment of wind, wave and tidal energy in the shortest possible time. We seek to maximise their benefits to the UK as a whole. We are a member-led organisation, which represents the best interests of the industry by influencing Government at all levels, providing a voice in the media, building consensus with stakeholders and raising awareness among the general public. We provide a forum for the industry and interested parties to gather to discuss issues of importance, do business and forge working relationships.
